The local pub is at the heart of many Irish villages and this is certainly the case throughout County Donegal. The photos below are a small selection of the local bars to be found from Malin Head in north Inishowen to Dunkineely on the shores of Donegal Bay in South Donegal. The pub is the traditional meeting place for the village community and frequently features music sessions and other social activities. Most pubs are family run and in recent years many have added a bar food menu.
