Steeped in history and tradition, Blarney offers the visitor a host of things to do and places to discover. The first time visitor is always impressed with the well preserved village square. Blarney is one of the few villages in Ireland which has such a fine centre, and today it continues to be a focal point of village life. In Tudor style, the village has grown up around the square which is owned and well maintained by the Blarney Castle Estate.

Shopping is a delight in the village where there are a number of excellent outlets including the world renowned Blarney Woollen Mills. Established in 1824, the outlet has become one of the largest craft shops in Ireland and is famous for the genuine quality of its produce.

Another great site to visit is the legendary Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle. For many visitors to Blarney, the first thing on the agenda is to kiss the famous Blarney Stone. Perched precariously in the upper battlements, the celebrated Blarney Stone is famous the world-over for conferring the ‘gift of the gab’— the power of eloquence — to those who kiss it. Some 200,000 people visit Blarney Castle annually. The castle itself is situated in over a thousand acres of magnificent mature woodland, making it the ideal place to take walks and enjoy the clean fresh environment of Blarney.

The wonderful Blarney Golf Resort overlooks the stunningly beautiful Shournagh Valley just outside Blarney village. Best described as a heath-land course Blarney Golf Resort is 2-Time Major Winner John Daly’s First Signature Course in Europe.
