Ennistymon Holiday Homes Clare
Ennistymon is a market town on the main Ennis-Lisdoonvarna road, 4 km inland from Lahinch. The town is located in a wooded valley beside a cascade on the River Cullenagh. There are a number of beautiful rapids on the river which runs through the town.
These rapids – or ‘Falls’ – can be viewed from the town bridge or, better still, from the footpath or river-side walk. There is good brown trout fishing on the Cullenagh River and the nearby Dealagh River (about 3 km away).
The town is known for the traditional shop fronts of its centre and its lively traditional pubs which feature regular music sessions during the summer season. Ennistymon is home of Daly’s pub owned by the renowned matchmaker Willie Daly.
The town has a number of beautiful shops which sell local crafts; there are two art Galleries, a craft shop and once a week a market is held.
Located near the edge of the Burren, Ennistymon makes an excellent base for a visit to the Burren. It is also a good base for those on a golfing holiday with courses such as Lahinch and Doonbeg quite close and the rest of Clare’s courses within an hours drive.
Surfing and Kite Surfing are located in Lahinch, only 4km from Ennistymon. Doolin is approximately 15 minutes drive from the town and it is from here that you can take a cruise to the famous Cliffs of Moher and to the Aran Islands on a day trip.
