Larne is a substantial seaport and industrial town on the east coast of County Antrim, It has been used as a seaport for over 1,000 years, and is today a major passenger and freight roll-on roll-off port. Larne is the starting point of the famous and very beautiful A2 coastal route, giving the tourist access to some of the most beautiful scenery in Ireland. Larne makes an ideal base from which to explore the beautiful countryside of County Antrim. The local Borough boasts two of the famous nine glens of Antrim – Glenarm and Glencloy .

The wonderful Carnfunnock Country Park is located just north of Larne. This is a magnificent attraction comprising of country walks, a maze, 9 hole par 3 golf course, children’s activity centre, camping and caravan park, time garden and collection of sundials.
